Matchbox Twenty (originally spelled Matchbox 20) is an alternative rock band formed in Orlando, Florida. The band has sold in excess of 29 million albums worldwide from the releases of Yourself Or Someone Like You, Mad Season, and More Than You Think You Are. Rob Thomas is the principal songwriter and lead singer.

Exile on Mainstream is the fourth album by Matchbox Twenty and was released on October 2, 2007. It is also a greatest hits album containing eleven previous hits and six new tracks that emerged from a twelve-song recording session in L.A., produced by Steve Lillywhite.

The album was available for pre-order on September 4, 2007 from iTunes. the album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart, selling about 131,000 copies in its first week.

The first single, "How Far We've Come", was released on July 16, 2007 and was a success peaking in the top twenty in both Australia and the United States.

I like all the songs compiled on CD 2 off this album. The song "How Far We've Come" is a nice song too.

Matchbox Twenty - How Far We've Come Lyrics

I'm waking up at the start of the end of the world,
but its feeling just like every other morning before,
Now I wonder what my life is going to mean if it's gone,
the cars are moving like a half a mile an hour and I
and I started staring at the passengers who're waving goodbye
can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time?

chorus:
But I believe the world is burning to the ground
oh well I guess we're gonna find out
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend,
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come

I think it turned ten o'clock but I don't really know
then I can't remember caring for an hour or so
started crying and I couldn't stop myself
I started running but there's no where to run to
I sat down on the street, took a look at myself
said where you going man you know the world is headed for hell
say all goodbyes if you've got someone you can say goodbye to

I believe the world is burning to the ground
oh well I guess we're gonna find out
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come

Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend,
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come

Its gone gone baby its all gone
there is no one on the corner and there's no one at home
well it was cool cool, it was just all cool
now it's over for me and it's over for you
well its gone gone baby its all gone
there's no one on the corner and there's no one at home
well it was cool cool, it was just all cool
now it's over for me and it's over for you

I believe the world is burning to the ground
oh well I guess we're gonna find out
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
oh well, i guess, we're gonna pretend,
let's see how far we've come, again
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come
let's see how far we've come

She said I dont know
if Ive ever been good enough
Im a little bit rusty,
and I think my head is caving in
And I dont know if
Ive ever really been loved
By the hand thats touched me,
well I feel like something gonna give
And Im a little bit angry, well

This aint over, no not here,
not while I still need you
Around
You dont owe me, we might change
Yeah we just might feel good
(chorus)
I wanna push you around, I will, I will
I wanna push you down, I will, I will
I wanna take you for granted(2x)
I will

She said I dont know
why you ever would lie to me
Like Im a little untrusting
when I think that the truth is
Gonna hurt ya
And I dont why
you couldnt just stay with me
You couldnt stand to be near me
When my face dont seem to want to shine
cuz its a little bit dirty well

Dont just stand there, s
ay nice things to me
Ive been cheated Ive been wronged,
and you
You dont know me, I cant change
I wont do anything at all
(chorus)
Oh but dont bowl me over
Just wait a minute well it kinda fell apart,
things get so
Crazy, crazy
Dont rush this baby(2x)
(chorus)
