The Starting Line is a pop punk band from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area that formed in 1999. They are currently signed to Virgin Records.

Direction is The Starting Line's third studio album, following Based on a True Story, and was released on July 31, 2007.The album debuted at number 30 on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling about 20,000 copies in its first week. The first single released off the album was "Island".
